All flight paramedics and critical care transport paramedics are required to meet stringent Life Air standards. Our paramedics are selected based upon a combination of education, experience, professionalism, and compassion. All of our paramedics go through our in house scenario and knowledge based exams administered by our medical director and clinical staff.
Role:
The role of the Flight Paramedic/Critical Care Transport Paramedic is to provide high quality care including, but not limited to, assessment, triage and treatment utilizing standards and guidelines established by the Life Air Medical Directors, assesses the nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize the care needed for safe transport of the critical patient to the appropriate facility; is responsible for carrying out the mission and goals of Life Air, Inc. assuring that safety remains the highest priority throughout the transport.
Responsibility:
The Flight Paramedic/Critical Care Transport Paramedic reports to the assigned base manager or designee and is responsible for the safe and efficient transport and treatment of all patients. The paramedic shall meet all the training requirements as specified by the Medical Director, Director of Clinical Operations, and Director of Operations/Chief Pilot. While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to perform medical procedures and assessments, reach with arms, speak, and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, climb balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee is required to maintain adequate physical conditioning to be able to perform job duties. Job duties are often performed at high stress levels requiring employee to function effectively and independently while maintaining good working relationships with partners, patients. The employee must frequently lift and or move objects over 80 pounds. While performing duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, outside in harsh conditions, and is frequently exposed to blood-borne pathogens, and or airborne particles.
