Scope of Care

The Life Air, Inc. emergency medical transport team is capable of transporting many different categories of patients of many different age populations.  All transport team members are trained at the critical care level through the Cleveland Clinic EMS Academy as well as specialty classes and guest lecturers at Life EMS Academy in Portsmouth. This advanced training enables our teams to successfully handle a multitude of patient situations.  All transports will be done with a crew configuration of a Registered Nurse, Paramedic, and a Pilot, or EMT if going by MICU.  Critical care transports will have a registered nurse as the primary care provider. In the event that a physician wishes to accompany a patient we would allow this to be so. In the event the physician wishes to go with the helicopter crew, it will be allowed in accordance with our policy and procedures.  All medical transport team members will meet the educational requirements set forth by the Life Air, Inc. policies and procedures
