Personal Bio:
Malissa is an exceptional nurse with experience in the pre-hospital setting as well as critical care. She began in 1992 working as a Paramedic and then became an RN working in the Intensive Care Unit. She has twelve years experience in Critical Care as well as management positions. She has received certification as a CCRN proving her knowledge base in this area. She is a member of AACN, and holds several certifications such as CICP, ACLS, PALS and is an Instructor of ACLS. She also maintains her current Paramedic certification.
Work Experience:
- March 2008 – current : Working as Director of Clinical Operations for Life Air.
- September 1996 – October 2008: Worked at Southern Ohio Medical Center as Registered Nurse, working various positions and units over the twelve year period.
- 1992-1996: Worked at Life Ambulance as Paramedic.
- 2006 – 2008: worked as staff RN in Cardiovascular Cath Lab. Responsible for patient care during invasive vascular surgical procedures in cath lab and pre and post lab care. As well as care of Cardiac Cath patients during emergent and non emergent Catheterization procedures, including angioplasty and stenting.
- 2005-2006: Full-time RN in ICU.
- 2003-2005: Shift Manager (Nursing Supervisor) of SOMC.
2000-2003: Assistant Nurse Manager ICU
- 2000: Worked part time as School nurse, Hospice nurse and part time ICU nurse.
- 1996-1999: Full time ICU RN.
